What will I learn?
The interdisciplinary MA degree course in Performative and Intermedial Musicology and Dance Studies provides a deepening, research-orientated study of the individual subjects of Musicology and Dance Studies as well as a narrowing of the two disciplines. Students examine the historic, intermedial and performative-artistic perspectives of music and dance, which are formed of the three axes of the course (scene – media – transdisciplinarity). A broad concept of music and dance provides the basis on which methods specific to the discipline are contrasted against and expanded by approaches taken from other fields of the humanities, as well as from social and cultural studies.
Which career opportunities do I have?
Graduates are qualified for a variety of occupations and careers. They work in cultural institutions – culture management, cultural policy and administration –, dance and concert institutions, and in theatres. Further occupations include journalism (print media, television, broadcasting) and the recording and image industry. They are further qualified to work in libraries and archives, press agencies and publishing companies, as well as to conduct research at universities and art colleges.
