Research clusters

The research profile of the University of Salzburg is comprised of different clusters and centres:

  • The Allergy-Cancer-BioNano Research Centre investigates the molecular and cellular basis of different diseases, focusing on allergy research, chemistry and bioanalytics, molecular plant physics and biochemistry, molecular tumour biology and structural biology. 
  • The Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience institutionalizes the cooperation between cognitive science and neurology in the study of “mind and brain”. The integration of cognitive and neuroscience promises a deeper understanding of mental and linguistic skills as well as a more substantial understanding of cognitive disorders. 
  • The interdisciplinary research and teaching centre Salzburg Centre of European Union Studies tackles questions of European integration, incorporating the different perspectives of various disciplines.
  • News
    Dr. Alisauskiene is holding a lecture in the summer term 2020 regarding "Religion in Central and Eastern Europe after the fall of Berlin wall: individuals, institutions and politics". The course will be held in English.
    On the 21st of February 2020, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniel Ruzek will hold a talk on "Antiviral therapy of tick-borne encephalitis: current options and challenges". It will take place at 11 am in the seminar room 103 at the first floor of Billrothstrasse 11. The Department of Biosciences cordially invites all listeners!
