LEHRANSTALT UND THINK TANK. A "think tank" is a research institute or expert panel that promotes new economic, political or scientific concepts and the like, that is ideas are developed. Those who visit the DA Vienna will actively influence the future design of their environment.

JAN BUJAK stellt die Angebote der DA (Dipolomatischen Akademie) Wien für Uni- und FH-AbsolventInnen aller Studienrichtungen vor.

An der DA Wien werden folgende Programme angeboten:

Die DA Wien, 1754 von Maria Theresia gegründet, bereitet als postgraduale Bildungseinrichtung Studierende auf eine internationale Laufbahn im öffentlichen Dienst & der Wirtschaft sowie auf Führungspositionen in internationalen Organisationen und der EU vor. Die Chancen, in eines der Programme aufgenommen zu werden, sind sehr gut und liegen bei ca. 33%.

98% der AbsolventInnen der DA Wien finden innerhalb des ersten Jahres nach Abschluss eine ihrer Ausbildung entsprechenden Stellung. AbsolventInnen der DA Wien sind zu  30,6% im Bereich der Privatwirtschaft, 17,9% im Bereich UN und anderer Internationaler Organisationen, 17,8 % im Bereich Foreign Services und 16,2 % Public Administration tätig.

    Dr. Manfred Mittermayer received the International First Prize for Science and Research from the city of Salzburg on 21 November, 2017.
    Since early summer 2017, the professors Stephen Wickham, Jana Petermann and Ulrike-G. Berninger from the Department of Ecology & Evolution have been part of a large-scale monitoring project in the Hohe Tauern.
    Learning German in the museum combines language and cultural learning. Last semester, eight participants completed a German course in the Salzburg Museum and not only improved their language skills, but also learned much in the context of the personal history and culture of Salzburg.
    Under the motto "Take a look beyond the horizon", students from all faculties are cordially invited to inform themselves, and to seek advice, about interdisciplinary supplemental studies. Date: 14 December. Location: Unipark, University of Salzburg.
    Guest lecture on Thursday, 14 December, 2017, at 18:30 with Dr. Ing. Vassilis Petrakis (Hellenic Ministry of Education, National Hellenic Research Foundation) in the Casting Collection SR E.33 (Classical and Early Aegean Archeology, Residenzplatz 1).
    This year, the University Library Salzburg’s Advent Calendar includes pictures, as well as short stories about the Advent and Christmas.

    The University of Salzburg, in cooperation with the University of Linz and the Animal Welfare Office Vienna, has launched the journal, Animal Welfare in Law and Practice (TiRUP), with Jan Sramek Verlag KG on board. The journal is technically supported by the repository of the University Library Salzburg (ePLUS).

    In an exhibition of the Literature Archive Salzburg, photographs of the writer of Lillian Birnbaum can be seen. The opening will take place on 4 December, 2017 at 19:00 in the Max Gandolph Library.
    On Monday, 11 December, at 19:00, there will be a guest lecture in Hörsaal 381, Haus der Gesellschaftswissenschaften, Rudolfskai 42, with Univ.-Prof. Dr. Konrad Vössing, Department of History, Dept. of Ancient History Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn on "Books and Libraries in the Rome of the Imperial Age, Old Questions and New Sources".
