Panel Discussion: Against Child Poverty with "Basic Child Protection"


The Center for Ethics and Poverty Research of the University of Salzburg will hold a panel discussion on the problem of increasing child poverty on 6 June, 2019, in cooperation with Labor and Social Law experts from the University of Salzburg, representatives of the Salzburg Poverty Conference, Volkshilfe and the Kinder- und Jugendanwaltschaft Salzburg.

University of Salzburg: The Departing and the Future Rectors Discuss the Future of the University


The University of Salzburg is celebrating its University Day on Wednesday, 5 June. Prizes will be presented to teachers and young scientists. In the morning, cultural scientist, Jan Assmann, will speak on "Axial Time", and the afternoon will be marked by the rectorate change with a moderated discussion between Heinrich Schmidinger and Hendrik Lehnert.

University of Salzburg: New Bachelor Degree Digitization-Innovation-Society


Under the auspices of the Interfaculty Department of Geoinformatics - Z_GIS of the University of Salzburg, a new, interdisciplinary study program for 'digital' interested students will begin in the winter semester 2019/20. Mobile apps and web-based applications, data analysis, communication and interaction design are key issues.

Unfassbare Wunder - Alexandra Föderl-Schmid in Conversation with Marko Feingold and Roman Haller.


The former standard editor-in-chief and current Israel correspondent for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Alexandra Föderl-Schmid, presents her latest book "Unfassbare Wunder", in which she recorded 24 conversations with Holocaust survivors in Germany, Austria and Israel. Graduation and Doctoral Thesis Celebration on 8 May, 2019


On Wednesday, the 8th of May, 2019, the University of Salzburg warmly congratulated 50 graduates who celebrated their graduations and/or completions of doctoral theses.

    The Austrian Academy of Sciences has awarded Mag. Dr. Daniel Ehrmann, university assistant and doctoral candidate in the Department of German Studies, four year APART-Grant, which he will start on the1. 3. 2021.During this time he will complete his post doctoral thesis project „Aggregation. Relationaliity and the Constellations of Literature (1650 – 1950). Toward a medium range historical model.
    There are still many places available in Language Centre courses. Registration is still possible until 12 March 2021. Please note: registration is only possible by appointment.
    The project funding programme for research between PLUS and South East Asian partner universities, ASEA-UNINET Call 2021-2022 (Project implementation period: 1st October 2021 - 30th September 2022) is now open.
    Prof. Dr. Jude Lal Fernando, Assistant Professor at the Irish School of Ecumenics at Trinity College Dublin, will be holding lectures in SS 2021 on the topic of "Interreligious Relations in Asia" at the Centre for Intercultural Theology in the area of Religious Studies.
    The programme for the summer semester is now online and the courses will be released shortly. We have improved our entrepreneurship courses. Register by the 14th March 2021.
    The Centre for Intercultural Theology and the Study of Religions and the University of Fribourg are organising an interdisciplinary online conference from the 16th-17th April 2021 (Start 16th April 2021 at 14:15).
